My favourite lights
On the train to Swindon this morning, a fog surrounded the train like a milky shroud. The sun wasn't strong enough to beat its way through, but it did create a beuatiful light.
The ground and all upon it had a saturated glow. This glow contrasted sharply with the grey sky, confounding the senses that expect bright surface colours to be accompanied by blue sky and the visible sun.
A moment to enjoy the splendour of a short train journey.
I have other favourite lights. The sunset in a desert, a red that burns without flames. And more specifically, the blue light that filled my soul when cycling from Wanaka to Haast Village - the light was amazing, and my brain was going loopy following an inspiring marathon day in the saddle.
